Preview and Download the Square Foot Garden Planner Templates You can preview the 4 x 8 and 1 x 6 planners below. To get started, choose a size that works in the space you’ve set aside for your garden.
We’ve included 4 x 6, 2 x 4, 2 x 6, 2 x 8, 1 x 4, 1 x 6, and 1 x 8 sizes. Again, I’m biased because I haven’t tried any other software, but has really helped me get going in the right direction. Our garden planner templates give you even more layout options. Also give you a count of how many of each plant you planned and you can add trellises and walking paths etc to your design. It does other things like tell you when to plant seeds and move plants outside based on your local growing season.
SFG GARDEN PLANNER SOFTWARE
Granted I haven’t used another software before, but this one looks like it’s shaping up to be pretty powerful. Also you can click on a plant and have it show you companion plants and gives you information about what it needs, and all that. They have a setting so you can toggle between Square Foot Garden Planning or just traditional which is nice because not all plants can work with square foot gardening (ie trees or watermelon). Anywho they are still working on getting to a point where you can use touch screens and such but it’s been really helpful thus far. I bought around black Friday so it only costs $24.
“We wound up with a number of people willing to devote time and effort to this project,” Leonard said.I’m also new, but I’ve been using s tool that they are still developing. The disappointments helped bring the opposition closer together, he said “Being shut down like that was a huge disappointment.” “We really felt like we had new information to offer and that we had a right to be heard,” Leonard said. The second major disappointment happened earlier this month when the Planning and Zoning Commission gave the developer’s representatives the last word and then closed the public hearing before a packed crowd of opposition, without taking public comment. “It’s amazing that an awful lot of people in town had no idea what was going on,” Leonard said. They organized themselves as Newtown Neighbors, raising money to hire an attorney to challenge the developer’s application, and organizing petitions, street protests, and public information campaigns. The first disappointment was in March, when the town’s wetlands commission gave Wharton the green light to build on land with environmentally sensitive features, clearing the way for the developer to apply to the Planning and Zoning Commission.Īt that point, the resistance was a handful of people. Thursday night’s victory followed two major disappointments for the organized resistance. “I believe it is based on an assumption that the building will be used in some manner far less than its capacity…and I would recommend disapproving on that basis and on the basis that the applicant declined to conduct a sound study.”įellow commission members Corrine Cox and Kersti Ferguson voted with Rich in the majority to deny the application, with Roy Meadows and commission Chairman Dennis Bloom voting in the minority.Ī crowd of some 200 people applauded and cheered at Newtown Middle School auditorium, as months of tension over a “ horrendous” proposal was relieved.īefore the vote “there were a lot of hearts pounding in their chests,” Leonard said. “I am not convinced that the numbers provided on truck traffic by the applicant are accurate,” said Rich. “In the end, traffic was the issue.”Ĭommission member Gregory Rich said as much before he voted to deny the application. “This was the fifth meeting, so they had a lot of time to think about it,” said George Benson, Newtown’s planning director. Newtown’s top planner said the multiple public hearings on the Wharton proposal gave all sides adequate time to make their case and gave the elected members of the Planning and Zoning Commission enough time to make an informed decision.
